Honor Roll. FFA Award and Banquet.

Erica received High Honors again and made the Honor Roll for the 3rd marking period.

Erica also had her FFA awards and banquet. She received two awards.  She had a good time and she looked really pretty.

Washington DC Class Field Trip.

I had the pleasure of being a chaperone for Erica's 7th Grade class trip today. We got to go to Washington DC.  We have great weather. Hope you enjoy the pictures. This post is kinda picture heavy.

The Washington Monument was under repairs. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Saw the Hope Diamond. No they did not let me leave with it.

Awards

Erica received an award from her 6th grade DCAS test. She received the silver medal. It was for Math and Reading. They give them out a year after the test is taken because they are state test and take awhile to be reviewed.

Spring Forward.

Don't forget to put your clocks ahead before you go to bed on Saturday. We are moving into Spring.

Catching up.

This post will have alot of pictures, as I have been very bad at updating the blog.

Erica had the flu was down and out for about a day and 1/2.  She also had a tooth pulled in order for the Orthodontist to see how the other tooth would come in and how it would affect her braces.

Erica turned 13 on December 31st. We had a simple day with shopping and cupcakes afterwards with her friend Ashlyn. We also had a simple New Year's Eve celebration to ring in 2013. Last Saturday I got to meet Jeremy Roenick. Mike's favorite USA born hockey player. Mike had to work so I went instead. I asked Mr. Roenick if I could get a picture and he was more than happy to do so.

He was so nice, he spoke with everyone and even asked them their's names and shook their hands.  Mike missed a great person.

HOCKEY IS BACK. Mike went with our neighbors to the Flyer's, Pens game this Saturday. Even though the Flyer's lost he said he had a good time.

Christmas Party

Mike and I don't often get to get our picture taken.  We had Erica take this before we left for the a Christmas party that one of Mike's friends had.  It was nice to get out.  We had a good time.

Donna's 5K Turkey Trot Run

I did my first 5k this year. I was not sure what to expect as I never ran this race before. I did find after about 1.5 miles that they had this huge hill. Oh my goodness, it was hard. I ran with my Co-worker Karen.  I was 18 out of 30 for my age group. 40-44. My time was 37.20. Not to bad for my first race. Mike was there to cheer me on at the end.

I saw this on another blog and had to share. Such a powerful message. Makes you wonder how each of us would be if this was us.

Wilmington RailRoad

On Saturday we took a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Wilmington to Hockessin. It was the Autumn Splendor ride.  Mike was a little under the weather but he endure. Erica had a good time. I would love to do the train ride during the Christmas season, they say the houses along the route decorate for the riders on the train.

 

RIP SPOOKY

We lost our beloved Spooky cat today. We found her trick n treating back in 2002. That is were she gets her name. Love you an miss you Spooky.

First Day of School

I am a little late. Erica started 7th Grade on Monday.  She got lost one time.  This is a whole new school for her. She is now in the Middle School, which I can say from the tour we had this school is huge.

She likes all her teachers so far.  Our baby girl is growing up.

Weekend stuff.

Mike had is company picnic on Friday. Erica did some hula hooping. Saw Gary Maddox on Saturday.  Erica enjoys the player signing's even though she doesn't really know most of them.

Braces are on.

Erica got her braces and her turtle in, all at the same time. It was painful for the first several days, but she is doing much better.
